    A bargain for off-road wear

Fit is good, I ordered a size up to be able to layer underneath or for body armor but might not have been needed. These are cut roomy through the torso. There are pockets EVERYWHERE on this jacket, inside and out. The zip-off sleeves are a nice feature but the zips tend to work partially loose- be mindful in wet weather. There are thumb holes in the sleeves to keep them from riding up on you. This jacket is not waterproof nor has a liner, but at this price it's a non-starter. Jacket vents if you get too hot. Prior to my first ride out I applied a wash-in water proofer and was bone dry after 4 hours in the muck. Durability was tested by running through the blackberries, not a scratch on me or a loose thread on the jacket. I really don't like the left-handed main zipper, why they couldn't get this right is a mystery. Pulled the padding out before I used it and chucked them. There are fancier jackets out there, but this one is a definite bargain and will serve me for many years. Very happy with this purchase and would order these for Christmas gifts for my riding buddies.

Best Adventure Jacket You Can Buy

Wow. Just got the ADV jacket and tried it out on a 60 mile ride in 100F temps. It is the nicest piece of gear I have purchased. Construction and materials are first rate. I am 5'10" and 170#. The medium fits me like it was custom tailored. I opened up all eight ventilation zippers and it let through plenty of air for a waterproof jacket. By the end of the ride, I wasn't even thinking about the heat, just the ride. I did not try the hydration pouch, but that was the one feature that I really wanted. I am tired of wearing a hydration backpack. I purchased the gray for visibility and less solar gain. Looks good with the aluminum cases and silver tank on my bike. Very sharp and a bit better looking than the Voyager jacket. Rocky Mountain has done a great job on this jacket. With some quick adjustment of the straps, it was loose enough to breathe but not bulky. And I still have room for a down jacket when I need to layer. I highly recommend it. I have the voyager pants and love them, but I am happy that I went with the ADV jacket. It equals jackets at twice the price. Best jacket on the market in terms of quality/cost for adventure riding. Leaving next week on a 5000 mile trip from Texas to Canada and I am prepared for any weather I encounter. Buy it!

Good venting - not quite waterproof.

Bought a month ago and just got back from a week long 2200+ km ride - conditions ranged from 32 degrees Celsius to 9 degrees Celsius and rain. After being in the rain for an hour, I found there was some seepage into my shirt - this was at the shoulders where the jacket creates a bit of a well due to the material puckering/wrinkling/bunching. I also have the pants and did not notice any leaks. (No crotch lake problem!) I will apply some waterproofing spray to see if that fixes the leaking. No verdict on protection or durability yet. Pros: Good venting/air flow! Open the cuffs and get a really solid breeze through the jacket and out the exhaust vents in the back. Build quality seems good. Pocket layouts. Comfortable for all day - I was wearing it for 5-7 hours a day. No extra zip-in liners - allows for good layering of your own. Cons: Not quite waterproof. Crunchy, loud material. Bladder pocket is a bit small for all the bladders I have.
