Do you go out riding in the cold? If you do, an ATV jacket is essential. You can’t be comfortable if you’re not warm, and that can put a damper on any ride. There are a lot of options when it comes to a good riding jacket, but it’s important to find one that best suits your needs.
One of the first things to consider is what temperatures you’ll be riding in with your jacket. Do you need something for the brisk fall weather? Or do you need a jacket that can handle the bitter cold of the middle of winter? Not all ATV jackets have the same level of warmth, and you don’t want to end up with something that won’t keep the chills out or that will heat you up too much.
It’s best if you can find something weather resistant. Waterproof is even better. You never know when you might get caught in the rain while out on the trails, and you’ll appreciate something that keeps the water out. Being wet on a cold day is no fun, and even an extra-warm jacket won’t cut it if the water seeps right through to you.
You’ve got to be on guard against water getting in, but you’ve also got to find a way to get water out – sweat. A little sweat can soak poorly designed gear and quickly become uncomfortable. A good jacket is breathable. If you spend a lot of time on your quad in the cold, you might even want to consider investing in a jacket that uses Gore-Tex or a similar material. This allows water out (sweat) without allowing water in (rain or other precipitation).
Finally, there are other things that you might find important, like color options or pocket locations.

Fit is good, I ordered a size up to be able to layer underneath or for body armor but might not have been needed. These are cut roomy through the torso. There are pockets EVERYWHERE on this jacket, inside and out. The zip-off sleeves are a nice feature but the zips tend to work partially loose- be mindful in wet weather. There are thumb holes in the sleeves to keep them from riding up on you. This jacket is not waterproof nor has a liner, but at this price it's a non-starter. Jacket vents if you get too hot. Prior to my first ride out I applied a wash-in water proofer and was bone dry after 4 hours in the muck. Durability was tested by running through the blackberries, not a scratch on me or a loose thread on the jacket. I really don't like the left-handed main zipper, why they couldn't get this right is a mystery. Pulled the padding out before I used it and chucked them. There are fancier jackets out there, but this one is a definite bargain and will serve me for many years. Very happy with this purchase and would order these for Christmas gifts for my riding buddies.

The jacket is of good quality and performs well. I was surprised by the length of the sleeves - which seemed disproportionately long. (I reviewed the description of the jacket to see if I overlooked a mention of this extra length as a feature but found nothing.) I still enjoy the jacket and find it useful.

Really nice jacket for the money, sizing runs a bit large though and its really stiff.

Took the jacket and pants on a recent trip with rainy weather conditions and the jacket performed very well. For hotter days there are plenty of zippers to allow air flow. I usually wear an XL but needed to go up a size to XXL on jacket and XL on pants. Jacket is more of an European cut than American cut. Fits me well and I am 6'1" and 225 lbs, more on the muscle side than fat so to speak. I would purchase again. Materials and construction appear to be top notch.
