  • MSR™ Xplorer ADV Pant

As good as other gear for half the price

I saw the whole outfit from dork in the road and his review. I went a head and bought the pants and jacket. Couldn't be happier. They are as advertised in every way for literally half the price of klim gear and ever bit as good. If you are familiar with ADV gear in general I would compare this to anything out there. The ONLY negative or design change they need to make is the arms on the jacket. The zippers go all the way into the elbow and it cuts off range of motion and pinches your arm. There is an easy work around, unzip from elbow back a few inches towards hand down forearm. (There are zippers in each end; hand, elbow). Just something to know before you buy. It's not a deal breaker for me, again for being half the price it's a worth it to me. Not uncomfortable once you figure out the arm zipper trick. All they need to do it redesign and not have zipper go all the way into the elbow. But I've wore the jacket for over a year. Wore the gear on the Oregon BDR all the way up to hood river. Giant loop in crane OR, and general riding. It works great for me I would buy it again in a second.

  • MSR™ Voyager Adventure Pant

Great pants and a great price

I did 23,000 miles last year wearing Carhart pants and survived just fine, fortunately with no accidents. I bought the Voyager pants to upgrade and have done a few thousand miles so far. Originally a bit stiff but breaking in nicely. My bike puts out a lot of heat from the cylinders and catalytic converter. These pants go over my boots nicely and don't allow any of that heat in. Zippers are high quality and it has plenty of ventilation. I plan to leave the rain pants at home now. The pockets have great zippers, just be sure to use them as the pockets are a bit shallow. It has good protection, though the padded fabric hip protection is the one place they shaved cost to get great pants at a very affordable price point. The big gussets at the bottom make it easy to buckle up the boots. I put highway pegs on my crash bars and when I need a little airflow, I put my feet up and get a ton of air up the legs. I did not try the ADV pants, but I feel these give me everything I need in terms of protection and water resistance at a very good price. Highly recommend. I am 5'10 and 170# and wear a 32/32. The medium pants fit perfectly. Love em.

    Good value

Nice pants. Good value. Seem sturdy and well made. They fit over MX boots. I recommend end ordering one size up. I wear a 34" jean m, ordered 36" and they are just right.

    Flow Tour 7.5 Pants

Just got these the first of the week. I am in Florida and with the heat and humidity these are great. We had a Florida downpour and got to try them out and was bone dry. The fit is nice and they are not bulky. The only thing I don't like is that the rain liner has to be worn on the inside. I was hoping it would be like the jacket and could be worn either on the inside or outside. The reality is this is a PAIN. I never put my rain gear on before it starts to rain. I'll probably get a pair of rain pants to go over these. A little crazy but I do like the fit and the air flow. I bought these for the TAT. Will return for a long term review after the TAT is done.
